And the winner is...
I'm delighted to say that I have just come out of a rather long and very thought-provoking meeting with our tech team and retail manager, during which we discussed every point raised by every entrant in our recent contest.
And I'd like to take the opportunity to say a sincere thanks to everyone who took the trouble to enter. The suggestions touched on a whole range of things we hadn't anticipated, covering not just design issues to do with our new site, but all sorts of product and business ideas too, which will be giving us food for thought and ongoing tasks for months to come.
But on to the matter in hand... I guess you'll be wanting to know who we're giving the prize to?
Well, so impressed were we by the range and standard of entries that we've decided we'd like to go a little further than first promised. So in addition to the main First Prize, we'd like to offer a consolation 'thank you' prize to a few runners up who, despite being pipped at the post, gave us ideas that we felt were going to be particularly useful. So to these individuals we would like to offer a special single-use discount offer of (an average of, see notes below *) 25% off any order of any size (hmmm.... provided it's all for personal use, and we don't suspect you've taken a bulk order on behalf of the rest of the X Marks Community!).
The three runners-up, in no particular order, are:
==> Jim Daniels
==> Dylan Smith
==> Christopher Scott
Thanks to you all. Please contact our retail team any time within the next year or so, and we'll email you a special single-use access code.
And so finally, the winner. This was actually one of the shorter entries. But it included a couple of thoughts in particular that we felt would give our customers an improved experience in simple but very useful ways. And ultimately that's what the judging team (which I stepped back from personally) felt most deserved the ultimate prize.
And the winner is...

Cheers Tom. Please contact our retail team to arrange ordering, at your leisure! :-)
And thanks again to the rest of ya! You're all great....

* Note: our discounts are always an average, and will work out higher than the stated percentage on some products such as jewelry, and lower on others such as bagpipes. Winners will receive a special code, showing reduced prices across our site.

So, what is the verdict? Did you choose a name?

Way to go guys..... All the rest of us are left drooling!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon
