Comment on the wearing of the kilt

Ok, so I get out of my truck with my wife and go into the Sears scratch and dent outlet. On my way out the girl at the desk asks "Are you Swedish?" There aren't even any smiles that convey my shock!

My wife says that a kilt is a ethnic chic magnet...maybe so... because...

Anyway, I repley, "I am scottish."
Her response "Are you in the Olympics?"

***?? Am I in the Olympics, do you mean me?? or Scotland?? Well I just responded that "I wasn't in the Olympics, it's in China."

    Geesh, what were they thinking???

Maybe the merchandise isn't the only stuff that's "scratched and dented" at this sale?

The only answer to both questions is, "Yes. How can you tell?"

I would have had to really mess with this one.

"Are you Swedish?" Well no.Actually I'm from Africa, and on my way to the Highland games thats being held in China this year.
Those Scots ya know! Never know where they are going to have the games.

Classic! This whole story has me laughing. ChattanCat, you should wait a week or two and go back again and have some fun with some of these suggestions.

When we were camping, our neighbor came up to us and asked if we were Australian. I was confused, and wondered if I had been using my fake accent again. Then I looked over at the "Got Kilt?" sticker on our car and said, "You mean Scottish? Although there are a lot of Scots (criminals, that is) in Australia, and our clan chief (until his death) resided in New Zealand."

She immediately back tracked and started complimenting him on his kilt.

Still, not as funny as the story he likes to tell about the person who came up to him and said, "You're Dutch aren't you?". To which he replied, "No, the kilt is Scottish, not Dutch." Then, this person said, "What? No, I was referring to your NOSE!"

    Be well,
