    DIY Kilt #2

Last Saturday I had a fruitful trip to Hancock fabric. I purchased a poly blend tartan at clearance for $2.95 a yard. It's about 11oz (which is just fine for Florida) 2.25 yards at 55" wide. Obviously suitable for a lightweight 4 yard kilt. My last DIY kilt was in the royal Stewart tartan, this one is probably a bumbee. Although it does have similarities to MacLeod Black & White tartan. This tartan has a oatmeal color in place of the white. There are some other differences as well.

    Here's the tartan!

    Test pleat pattern 1

    Test pleat pattern 2

I went with pleat to stripe pattern 2.
