    Yes. Wear the pin to stab handsy Scotsmen, if need be.

    I hadn't really given that any thought. I assumed the thickness of the kilt pin would put enough distance between the magnets and objects for it not to be a problem. Should have thought about kitchen appliances.

    I think The Wizard of BC described the magnets doing that.

    no worries - I too thought it sounded like a great idea until I saw the "danger" mentioned

    Not sure if I'd be classified as a lady or not, but I am female and I do wear sparkly and shiny pins on my kilted skirts.

    The kilt pin I made uses 2 neodymium magnets to hold it in place. I've only had trouble a couple times, one was when I sat on a steel bench, wasn't too dificult to reclaim the magnets, the other when I was getting into a friend's jeep, and the kilt pin decided to grab the door frame. (I was getting in the back seat)
