Cthulhu accessory: Elder Sign buckle from Tyger Forge...

A while ago, I talked to our own Mark Goodwin about the possibility of commissioning a very unique project.

Mark's buckles, as we all know, are those from the STM: http://giftshop.scottishtartans.org/tyger.html

Walking around in this kilt in the R'lyeh Sett, I felt a bit... ill at ease. I thought wearing the Elder Sign couldn't possibly go amiss (and maybe it would stave off Madness for a while, too).

Mark, if you don't know him, is an exceptional fellow, and created a very special buckle that was well beyond my high expectations.

Here, worn with the Sporran of the Deep:

Took lots of pictures with different light, as it's impossible to capture the beauty of Mark's craftsmanship in a photo... but I figure that several photos might almost come close...

Here's a super close-up, showing the new "starry sky" (very appropriate, here) texture:

The pewter really is brilliant, in the light.

I couldn't be more thrilled with this new piece of gear, and HUGE thanks go out to Mark. I'd reccomend a Tyger Forge buckle to anyone, as there's nothing else like them, out there.

Oh, and for those who enjoy irony, here's the new buckle with his older brother-

Man are those ever sweet, and I still going crazy (rim-shot) over that sporran!

I really need to find my Lovecraft books and re-read them, so I don't end up asking re-noob questions, like, "Um, what's the symbol on the other buckle, again?", anymore.

Insanely awesome swag ya got there! -Steve

    That buckle is fantastic.
Ryan, this is quite the outfit you're assembling here.
Fingers crossed that it won't get too chewed up when you're eaten (hopefully first).

Really, really lovely especially when grouped with the leathers and sporran.

Well the buckle, at least, should make it through... so after I'm eaten, if any of you folks are brave enough to sift through Cthulhu's leavings, you're welcome to it.

I was expecting the later attributed star and was delighted to see Lovecraft's image!

    Well done to the maker

Well, seeing as the erroneous sign wouldn't be likely to do anything but get caught in a Deep One's teeth, I thought it prudent to go with the real deal.

All kidding aside, this one is by Lovecraft's own hand, and besides that, I think it looks very cool, and to those not in the know, rather nondescript and low-key.
