good buys on tattersall shirts
Check out this site for good shirt pricing. It's an introductory offer, but they've got good buys on some pretty nice looking shirts.
And they have tatterall with straight collars. And they have verying body styles, so you skinny guys can get a tight fit while we gentlemen of substance can have a skosh more room, so to speak! I'm ordering tomorrow.

It's a great price, but they're cut really, REALLY generously in the waist.
Coming off wedding season I'm not exactly at my fighting weight, but there's no size for me that isn't HUGE in one area and way too tiny in another.
Otherwise I'd jump on a few of these, even with the button down collar.

What I'd need for a good fit is circled in red.

This may seem like a silly question, but is there a difference between a check shirt versus a tattersall shirt?

Charles Tyrwhitt's site is slightly misleading; they would have you believe that they have just slashed the price of all their goods whereas in fact there is always a sale on! Having said that it doesn't really bother me that much as all of the shirts I have had from them have always been excellent (as good as and often a little better than some of the other big names on Jermyn street) and you always feel like you are getting a deal although there is a niggle in the back of one's mind that asks how they manage to keep the prices so reasonable. I have to add that the service is always excellent, very professional and friendly.

A check shirt will refer generically to any shirt with a checked pattern whereas a tattersall check is a specific type of check with even squares normally on a light background with the horizontal and vertical stripes being two different darker colours.

I think that their cut is a pretty standard English classic Jermyn Street type cut which is generous in length and body; it makes for a very comfortable and good looking shirt. You would get similar cut if you went to, say, Thomas Pink, Roderick Charles or Turnbull & Asser although you can of course go bespoke and have it made to your measurements.
p.s. I have no connection to Charles Tyrwhitt; I just like Jermyn Street shirts.

Unfortunately, their tattersall shirts all seem to have button down collars, which I don't like. Shame, because I'm having difficulties finding good quality tattersall shirts. The place where I bought my last ones from seem to be permanently out of stock.

Yes, generous is probably an understatement -- even the "extra slim"
fit would be 5 or 6 inches too big in the waist for me. Too bad, they
look like good shirts at a great price.

Must be a new range - i have at least three Tattersall shirts from them with a classic (normal!) collar.

I bought two spread collar tattersall shirts this morning (they're like on page 3 of the spread collar shirts), and got a bonus - a free tie! I got a red & blue regimental just like one I had years ago and wore out. Because the 19" neck comes standard with 37" sleeves, I paid $13/shirt for tailored sleeves (35"), and $6 extra for pockets. Us kilt wearers need all the pockets we can get! Altogether with shipping, it was a tad under $135, but that's two $160 shirts and a $40 tie. Thanks to thescot for posting this link!
