Duke of Edinburgh at Highland Games
From the "Sun on Sunday" -
Duke of Edinburgh joins the Queen at Highland Games
PRINCE Philip showed no sign of suffering from his recent bladder infection as he stepped out in traditional attire at the Highland Games.
Sporting a kilt, the Duke of Edinburgh, who spent five nights in hospital last month, joined the Queen at the annual festival.
The Braemar Gathering is held each year just a short distance from Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire, where the royals spend their holidays.
Prince Philip has been at the Balmoral estate since being discharged from Aberdeen Royal Infirmary on August 20 where he was treated.
He accompanied the Queen, who is patron of the Games, to watch events including tossing the caber and tug of war.
The Games, held at the Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park, take place on the first Saturday of every September and regularly attracts visitors from around the world to the village.
Last weekend, the Duke made his first public appearance since leaving hospital when he attended a church service at Crathie Kirk.
In June he was admitted to hospital with the same infection the day after braving cold, wet and windy conditions on the royal barge for several hours during the Diamond Jubilee Pageant on the River Thames.
Philip, 91, spent five nights in London’s King Edward VII Hospital and missed some of the key celebrations of a special bank holiday weekend marking the Queen’s 60-year reign.

Was there. Absolutely great. Dont know the usualls, but Royal family only there for an hour and a half. So take that as the Duke of Edinburgh still not too good, but he is 91yrs old. Pipers raised their game when the Royals arrived. So much goes on ,20% better than I imagined, my daughter and wife thoroughly enjoyed, was great, and at the end for the pipers they played Hills of Tyrol. Very moving

Anything (besides lying down) for an hour and a half seems like quite the feat for a 91 year old.
Wonderful pictures - it's always nice to see members of the royal family kilted up.

Thanks for sharing that Chas.
Glad to see he is out and about but I have to admit he looks pretty "weathered".
I thought the Queen rocked in the pre olympic "Bond" spoof.

A week in the hospital is hard on you at any age even if you are healthy. At 91 and ill he is doing very well and I hope he make it to many more games.

I think it is great that he has that amount of drive and can still manage to be as active as he is. From my own experience with grandparents and adoptive grandparents (which I know isn't unique) as long as they are still doing things they can run forever, it's once they stop being active that they stop. Here's hoping Prince Phillip stays active for another 10 years.
