I Dyed my Wool blend hose.....

I was inspired by Tobus and Mike's hose dyeing,so I swung by Trash-Mart on the way home and grabbed a box of Navy Blue RIT. Dyed my cream hose first thing this morning, they just finished drying......

IDK about you guys, but they look a wee bit purple to me, may be my colorblindness......my family is mixed on that subject, some say blue (ladies), some say purple(guys)......oh well.....

Tell me what you think, so far everyone I have shown them too tells me they like the cream ones better....... (they aren't fellow kilties though, so when they say that white hose looks traditional, I repeat what

OK, on to the main event! The pics!

Sorry about the blurryness of the pics, no one wanted to help....
I am really pleased with them, I especially like the way the wool fibers took the dye really dark, but the rest didn't so it has the handmade "heather pattern" look..

    Better than white!

I don't know about them being navy blue, and to me they don't look purple, but from the pictures, they are better than the original white.

If you wanted them darker, maybe you can repeat the RIT process?

    I like them!

The first picture looks sky blue, the second picture looks "heather" blue with a hint of purple

I think they look really good, at least on my screen.

And they're a darn sight better than the cream. Goo job.

They look fine to me. I am sure the final color is lighter than the bottle would indicate. That appears to typical from the experiences I have read about.

Great job Scotcop and I really like the colour and it shows that bit of individulism that a lot of people strive for, but lose in wanting to fit in with the crowd. Once again great colour.

When anyone asks the color, just twinkle and say "Periwinkle!" I think they look great! I am looking for all my son's old cream kilt socks as we speak

First of all, I think they look GREAT! The different pictures give them different shades of blue, so it's hard to tell exactly what color they are. But the important thing is that they're not cream.

I really like the "heather pattern" look they took on too.

I got the same reaction from my wife that you are getting. She likes the cream hose better because she (like 99% of the population, apparently) thinks it's more traditional looking. Man, that's one myth about kilts that I'd sure like to die.
