    Tentacle Kilt Pin

Seeing all of the Cthulhu love on this forum, especially the R'lyeh sett kilts, I was inspired to sculpt a cephalopodian kilt pin. I made this yesterday out of polymer clay on a twisted aluminum foil armature. Here is how it looked baked:

And then after I slapped some acrylic paint and some pearlescent inks on it and mounted on my Mackenzie PV Kilt.

It's only being held on by the tension of the flap right now, but I'm going to mount a little pin with backing on it. The next one I make will obviously be more green, but I wanted to keep this one more like an octopus tentacle before I went weirder.

I think it would be interesting to make a faux-tentacle sporran in the full-mask style too - but we'll see how far my ambition takes me.

Nice work! That would be fantastic with the R'lyeh set.

Awesome is right. I can just see a harpoon next. Call it the NEMO collection (Capt., not the little fish). Great work.

I'm not sure why I never thought of using Polymer clay for kilt wearing applications. All sorts of possibilities have just sprung to my imagination: custom buttons, cap badges, buckles, cantles...
And Fimo is pretty cheap at Joann's. My husband's Christmas is now going to be awesome.
