For those who understand, no explanation is necessary; for those who don't, none is possible.

I agree. I can't wait to see the end results, or how different people decide to pleat it.

This is my situation as well. I jones for a couple of yards, but simply can't do it financially right now so I too would wish for getting some extra yardage woven if that's possible.

Unfortunately this is probably going to be a one-shot deal - assuming DC Dalgliesh cares enough about 70+ yards DW to actually answer an email and take the order.
I'm not realistically in a position to order extra yardage, so this is probably the only chance to get some.

Yeah, I know it's already a BIG order.
In the past, Dalgleish has spent very little effort emailing me back, but perhaps a phone call would yield better results.

Very interesting... something I would consider too.
Is there any other Mills that could be looked at for weaving this ?
Surely there's more than just Dagliesh...
( sorry I'm new & jumping in here late... but better late than missing out. )

There are other mills that do short runs, especially now that our 'short run' is getting a bit larger. Dalgliesh is regarded as doing very nice work at a decent price (when you can get a quote )
If I don't hear by tomorrow AM I'll try and call them (I'm also stuck in the midst of a computer upgrade, among other things).

Good news!
Good news! Dalgliesh called ME this morning after yesterday's email attempt. Apparently my email service is returning their messages to them as undeliverable???
We are definitely talking in the range we had been anticipating, ~20GBP per yard of double width material (roughly $32US based on today's exchange rate of 1.60/1).
I will have to adjust the prices slightly to cover paypal and the international currency conversion fee to pay Dalgliesh.
Also, they WILL split the total order and ship to individual members, so there will be no big "Break and Ship" on my part and no giant customs bill to split up
They said that orders up to 4yds double width ship Parcel Force (Royal Mail) and are very inexpensive. Larger orders may have to post UPS or similar and could result in customs or brokerage fees.
I am getting back in contact with them to start the process of colour selection and calculating the cost of postage to various places.
Hopefully we can get the order ready to roll in the next two weeks or so, stragglers will be left behind or eaten
With that said:
Please either drop a response here if you ARE SURE you want yardage. We ARE moving forward.
For the sake of my sanity PLEASE no web-chatter from this point, simply a yes/no and confirmation/change of yardage wanted.
I am starting a "Kilted Cthulhu Cultist" social group for the web chatter and further discussion of NON-Yardage related topics. Find it HERE

I am in for 2 sets of 4 yards. One set for a full kilt for me. Two yards for plaid or sash and two for a box pleat SKIRT for Amy.
Ok to do it this way? 2 sets of 4 yards?
Jim
