Opening Day at Faire
Last Saturday, (2/19), was opening day for the second annual Sherwood Forest Faire near Austin Texas. I was out with some of the Girltorage and my Dad in tow. The faire has had quite a few changes and improvements since last year, and not just the permanent privies! It continues to exceed my expectations.
On to some photos;
We'll start at the front gate, where Robin and his Merry men give welcomes, and the occasional fashion critique, to the opening day patrons.
Here's my Dad, at 79 years old enjoying his first renfaire from the throne in Sherwood's stone circle.
There are about 15 new shops and structures on the grounds, including this new waterwheel and merry go round.
Of course I had some of the Girltorage along.... They're all Sci-Fi fans, and when we went to do this photo I said "Hey this would be like Lazarus Long, but we need a couple nekkid redheads!" No takers on that one!
And I never miss a Circa Paleo performance!

Looking great as always, Z! I'm hoping to get down there, but won't be until Mar 26 if I can. I'm glad to hear that they've improved the privs ;)
Did you camp?

Looks like a good faire!! Can't wait for the CoRF to open! But I have a lot of events to tide me over.

No on the camping, Had to daytrip it this time due to the work schedule. There have been some nice improvements to the campgrounds though, including permanent showers.

Nice photos, Z. Looks like your dad is enjoying the faire.
And remember, we appreciate the sacrifice and hard work you put in,...to bring us these fine (educational) photographs.

Cheers Zardoz. Love some of the outfits on show. Not exactly to my taste some of them but most impressed all the same.
Respect to the man in the pink tutu by the way. That's a look that's had a great deal of thought put into it.

As I was taking the photo, I complimented his 'color coordination'
