Williamsburg Scottish Festival Pix 2010
Friday evening, the President Reception was held. I camp at Rockahock for the festival. This was the first year the President’s Reception was held there. Usually it was held off site. It was a hoot getting duded up at campgrounds. As I walked to the restaurant where the reception was I got quite a few stares, smiles and photos taken.
A couple of new items made their debut. I wore my dressier Argyll with a 6 button waistcoat. Burnett’s & Struth casual kilt in Malcolm modern. I had received the day before from Dunadd Trading Company House of Cheviot Argyll hose in Hunting Scot. They are fantastic; great fit, good complimentary match to my kilt the red garters from STM were just the thing. A few months ago, I had received from Josh at Skye Highland Outfitters the white goat hair John Brown sporran. It’s a beaut and provided an eye catching contrast to the black, dark blue and dark green background of my outfit. There wasn’t a better looking sporran at the reception.

My heart was set to meet Bonnie Rideout who was the Honored Guest of the festival. As pictured below I did. She also autographed for me the cover of her CD “A Scottish Fiddle collection".
David R. Ross would be posthumously awarded the Scot of the Year award.

Usually, I wear a clan crest polo shirt with my kilt. A cooler weekend than usual and with the compliments I had received here on my attire at the Fredericksburg Welsh Festival, I duded up for this one, too.
The Lovat blue tweed jacket and waistcoat I got on sale at Hector Russell in Glasgow when returning from the Gathering 2009. Black Watch Mackie bonnet and House of Cheviot Argyll top hose both from Dunadd Trading Company. Grey tattersall shirt a blue and yellow bowtie. My buds in the other clan tents wondered what was happened to me!

Most festivals I convene the tent as a one man operation. Sharla a Collum originally from Colorado volunteered to help. She would carry the Clan Banner in the Parade. She also would join the Society.

Wendy a Malcolm originally from California would come by with her daughter Elyssa and would join the Society. Wendy with her mother went to the Gathering last year and AGM held in Poltalloch.

My sister Denise and friend Lilli would came to assist in the tent. I was set for help and went for a walk about.

I headed to the Scottish Trading Company, where Matt had brought a couple of Horn Bowl Celtic Quaich for me to select one. Matt never knows what color they may be when he orders them. I chose the blonde bone over a black one which was quite sharp, too.

I found a fellow member of the Fredericksburg Scottish Society, Melissa at the Morrison tent. We discussed some plans for the 2011 Burns Supper.
