    I'm surprised.

I've bought custom goods from them and received good quality and equally good personal service. Finite details were discussed by email and phone and the finished article arrived promptly and exactly as I had requested. This was fairly recently too. I understand your dissatisfaction Simon and I'd be livid too but it does seem as though their manufacturing standards and quality control are variable rather than just dire.

    As I say, I'm surprised.

I agree with you John. I am surprised too. I bought from them following good reviews on here of their levels of service. I guess that there are times that something slips through the net and sadly this time it affects me. I've just ordered some new buttons so the jacket and vest will get finished but at more expenditure to me.

This is not good enough as I will now be out of pocket, as to get the garment finished I will have to take it to a local tailors. I have no sewing skills whatsoever and putting in a buttonhole is the equivalent of designing a replacement of the space shuttle to me.

Chances are that with this experience I will not be buying anything from them in the future so the offered discount is meaningless.

I have spoken with the tailor and he has offered to write me an invoice for the cost of finishing the jacket, which admittedly isn't much £15-£20 which I can then forward on to the jacket supplier to hopefully get reimbursed.

I have to say that I am very disappointed with the level of service from this vendor because up to now they have had very good reviews on here. But for the extra £20 it will cost me its just not worth the hassle and stress in trying to get them to resolve it.

In the interests of preventing anyone else from not receiving the standards which we deserve, I have no issues with naming the company. They have failed and they admit they failed on this occasion.
The company, which some of you may have guessed is Tartan4less also trading as Kilts4less.

Such a shame as poor service is not acceptable and for £200 / $300 its just not good enough.
One great thing about the Internet, the ability to see how vendors are performing for good or ill. Seems they tried to "make it right", but offering a discount in the future doesn't really fix the problem at hand. It could be as simple as a new person skipped the QC step and shipped your jacket too soon, or it could be that the company has just gotten lax. Having these experiences in one place is a good resource for people to share their experiences with vendors. IMO they should have had you send them a pic of the jacket without button holes, had you get it fixed locally, then send them a pic of the repair and a copy of the bill, which they would then pay. That, to me, would be a resolution.

    Post script -

Despite promising to send the missing buttons, they have still not been received. I ordered some buttons from EBay which I have received. I have also commissioned a local tailor to complete the jacket and waistocoat.

Quite frankly I am fed up and disappointed with T4L they have let me down badly. Would I recommend them? No I wouldn't! Despite repeated promises to sort it out they haven't.

I am another £30 out of pocket which is not a fortune but its the principle. All I get is requests for my phone number which they already have and empty promises.

    Caveat Emptor - Buyer beware.

Buy from one of our sponsors which I will do in future.

Simon, I am very sorry to hear that your woes continued with this vendor. I do thank you, however, for the heads-up.

I hope that your jacket and waistcoat serve you well when your tailor finishes them for you.
