I am assuming since Black Watch is also Campbell it would not qualify as non-clan.

Oh, that's lovely now, that is. I'd love to see pics of the actual kilt (and many of these others that are new to me).
The only universal tartan I own right now is Scottish National, which I like for the dark Black Watch-like colors plus the red and white to liven it up a bit. When I was purchasing that kilt I was also considering the Buccleuch because of its earth tones -- but there was too much white in it for my liking. I wish more folks carried Brown Watch...

My first ever kilt was in the Scottish National tartan, Alan, and even though I sold that kilt long ago, I still like the tartan and have a silk neck tie in it, just to remind me of that first kilt.
Most of the non-clan tartans I wear currently are those I have some connection to. I wear the Carolina tartan, as I am a native son and lifetime resident of North Carolina. I have a kilt in the Mull tartan, both because of fond memories honeymooning on the Isle of Mull and also because I just happen to favor the tartan design. I wear a handful of other non-clan tartans with meanings significant to me.
In terms of purely fashion tartans, working in the trade I often encounter tartans that I think are rather attractive (for example, I really favor Lochcarron's new Auld Scotland tartan). But I resist purchasing them because, well, if I had a kilt in every tartan I liked it would be a bit overkill!
But there was one I couldn't pass up. I fell in love with Lochcarron's Highland Granite tartan when I first saw it, and then shortly thereafter discovered that they had a short length of it in their Hew Hampshire facility at a discounted sale price. I couldn't resist!

Isle of Skye
Ireland's National
Scottish National
Irish National
Green Shadow tartan
There are many more that I crave but, like Matt, if I bought every tartan I loved, then it would be total overkill, consume my house and my paycheck.

I've only really got two kilts - one in the family tartan and one in my favorite non-clan tartan - Holyrood. There's just something about that tartan that just demanded I have a kilt in it.

Hebridean colours
I'm quite a fan of the Hebridean collection from House of Edgar. Must admit some tartans give me a bit of a headache when I'm sewing them, but he Hebridean Cairn and Heather etc are quite calming!

Isle of Mull of course!! The colors are based on the colors of the various rocks in the bedrock of the Isle of Mull:
Antarctica:
Scottish American (absolutely fabulous pleated to the white stripe) - not the best photo below - I'll try to hunt one up that shows the tartan better.

I'd have to say the latest two kilts that I've added to the family: German Heritage and American National.
