    Grandfather Mt Games 2008

The Friday Group shot. We have
    Macsim, myself, Scottishrebel, Mael Coluim,Balaamsass51,Drillagent.

On Sunday Bill and I met at the appointed time. Since I was in Fridays photo and Bill was in Saturdays were not going to make a photo. As we were standing there talking who should appear but Gordon Kirkbright of Fraser and Kirkbright in Canada. He was the weaver of the Xmarks Tartan. We were also informed that the Xmarks Tartan was the
first tartan woven for a kilt forum.

    More to follow.

We arrived early on Friday Morning so we could park on the Mountain and
not have to ride the shuttle.

There was a slight fog. This is a shot of Celtic grove #1 before it got busy.

Below is a shot of Albannach and let me say it got real busy when
    they were playing.

    Next we have Jackie.

Here is a wider angle shot of the band

And a shot of the crowd.

Late Friday we had a break in the overcast day.

We also had two of my favorite Scottish singers.
First was Jim Malcolm formerly of the Old Blind Dogs.
A fantastic singer who is really passionate in his singing.

Next Jim and his family join, Ed Miller, another fantastic singer.

    Great photos Nelson!

I wonder why the close up of Jacquie? Perhaps for the benefit of someone on the staff?

    Cheers

I gave the wife a break on Saturday and we were back on Sunday.

Here is massed band leading the parade of tartans.

Just above the bag pipe cord you can see our very own Madbagpiper
marching and playing in the massed band.

This carved pole is carried by the clan of distinction.

The tartan banners are assembled after all the clans have marched.

    Saturday Meet Up at Grandfathers

Great photos, Nelson! Here are mine.

This is the Saturday, meet up of XMarkers. Left to right: Scottish Rebel, yours truly, Drilagent, Balaamsass1951, Tartan Hiker and Turpin who brought the wonderful XMarks tartan.

Turpiin had the idea for us to catch Barley Juice who was doing their set. We stood, lined up in the back stretching out tartan so Jimmy Carbomb could see us. BJ really rocks and it was great meeting Jimmy and the other lads.
