Great Hat Source
Coemgen's pith helmet pic reminded me of a great hat source
http://www.menshats.com/
Top quality, great service, and a wide selection of kilt friendly hats and pith helmets..

Wow!! Thanks for posting that link, Ron... There's all kinds of hats there.
Here are some links to flat caps that BoldHighlander provided in one of my threads.
Ivy Caps, Newsboy Caps, and Scally Cap
(Cavanagh) Flat Cap
Irish Flat Cap (nice brown or gray tweeds)
Other types of hats can be found at each of those links.
Here is a BoldHighlander thread with a whole bunch of hat links for the newsboy cap.
Tweed Newsboy Cap?
Here is a link to The Scottish Tartans Museum's bonnets

Now all we need is a link to this thread. ...

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

I like the highland bonnet. Maybe one in forest green will show up with the L & M Sporran if Matt reads this (add it to my order)!

There is a seller on ebay named ramscraig who runs an ebay store called Mossie Croft Highland Accessories who make custom sized hats in their spread. Takes a few weeks for the customs but they are nice hats in a variety of styles.

I'm still looking for a few more links that I remember coming across on the forum that are hat related, but here is an old thread talking about scally caps.

A couple of the links there seem to still work.

Wow! Look at all the hat options. Very nice.
I wish I could get my sweetie to wear a balmoral *cries* He says he would have to keep his hair really really short if he did, but who knows if he would wear one anyway (he's still shy about the kilt to start with right now). I much prefer his lovely curls to be long, not cropped short, but I think something like a balmoral would look so nice on him.
Ah well, I'll keep hinting at him to try to wear hats more often ;)

Good luck Cynthia. I'm sure you'll get him in a bonnet eventually.
I'll keep looking for hat links.

I thought about making one for him. I have an old Vogue pattern that has different shapes of beret-type hats. I'm sure I could tweak it just right for him. Of course, if he doesn't wear it... not sure I want to bother making one.
But for me... hmmmm.... Maybe if I made one for myself, he'd say "ohhhh, how 'bout one for me?" Think that might work? ;)
