    My nifty new herne belt

I just got this belt today from Bill Watson at the Potomac Leather Co. It's called the herne belt after the Celtic horned god. It is offered in brown as well as black. It was expensive but extremely well made. The hasp is mule deer antler. The 2" wide leather is beautiful and not nearly as stiff as it looks. It's also very adjustable (over 8" per size). I haven't had a chance to wear it out yet but from initial impressions I am very pleased with my new belt and the customer service from Potomac Leather Co. I'm also wearing a Buzz Kidder sporran with an RKilts braided leather sporran strap. No one was home today so I had to take the pics myself, hence the extreme close-ups.

Great looking belt and it works great with the sporran belt and the thick Buzz Kidder sporran. The only way to improve on that combo would be to get a black Freelander Sporran (as the horn buttons would go so well with that belt's unique closure system).

    Cheers

Nice belt. Does it cinch up with the side strap after you fasten the antler tip front?

That is a very nice looking belt, congratulations on a fine piece. I would agree with Panache having a black freelander sporran myself I think it would go well with the belt.

Actually, the belt comes in two pieces that are laced together with the narrower band. Once it is adjusted for size, it can stay where it is and just be closed with the hasp. It's great because it goes on faster than any other belt I've owned.

As for the Freelander sporran, that is definitely on my wish list. Maybe I'll ask for one from Santa Clause.
