    Ordering A Basket Hilt Sword

Monday I will be calling London to order a basket hilt sword -- would anyone else be interesting in obtaining one? I'm guessing the price will be something in the region of $1200-1400.

I bought a carbon steel basket-hilt for $200 a few years ago. If you have a webby for this company, I'm curious.

Google Sussex Swords. It's all of my best mates from my days with Wilkinson Sword. They can't use the name, but the quality and craftsmanship remains the same. My thought was that if enough of us ordered swords we might be able to negotiate a discount.

That is indeed the same company, producing the same quality swords as we did at Wilkinson Sword prior to the factory shutting down.

I am ordering the current pattern broadsword, with non-military etching to the blade. I will probably opt for a civilian scabbard as opposed to the metal scabbard used on the military pattern sword. (The steel scabbards used to cost the earth when I was at Wilkinson.)

I could be seriously in on this. But, like JRB said, I don't see the basket-hilt on display on their webby; although, I don't doubt the availability. Do you see any pics that I missed?

As an alternative, let me recommend these guys in Glasgow:

Period styles, excellent workmanship, fair prices. I own two of their baskethilts....
