    RAF Tartan

    Hi Folks,
I have been watching this website with considerable interest as I have been working with Arthur Mackie the designer of the RAF tartan that was designed a number of years back before being adopted by the Royal Air Force Pipe Bands. Arthur has been designing tartans since he left the Air Force where he was an accomplished pilot flying state of the art Tiger Moths and a few other planes. From every sale made a percentage is given to the Royal Air Force association charity, hence our interest in promoting sales around the world. Most people had great difficulty in identifying the source of the Tartan which can be acquired thru www.kamrafa.co.uk or contacting Arthur directly at momack@lyndale.wanadoo.co.uk This tartan has been predominently been procured by serving RAF personnel and close relatives of ex RAF personnel it can be worn in the mess but only on non formal occasions. No letter is required from the Queen or any other authority to wear the Royal Air Force Tartan as Arthur is the official copy right holder consequently if you like the tartan then you can order it and wear it without any restrictions. Contrary to some comments on this site Arthur does not have the kilts made by his Granny or sister but are made by professional Scottish kilt makers who infact made all of the kilts for the Royal Air force pipe bands.
If you want further information you can contact Arthur directly at momack@lyndale.wanadoo.co.uk where he can advise you in great detail the prices and measurement requirements. The Raf Tartan in many forms kilts, trews, have been shipped around the world.
You too could be the proud owner of a Royal Airforce Tartan kilt.

    Enjoy
