Does X-Marks have a birthday?
What day was X-Marks founded?
Who is our resident old-timer? - so we can ask him?
Whatever that day is, I propose that we call it X-Marks Day! -and we all gather in our various locations, and raise a mug () to toast our fellow X-Marks Clan members and post kilted pictures from across the globe!

I like this idea.
But, barring that, I would totally go to a kilt night on Oct 27. That day wouldn't be entirely convenient for me, but I could make it work.
Of course, therein lies the problem. There are so many people on XMTS that it would be murder to just pick a date and hope it works for everybody. I, being my scientific-method minded self, propose a series of 5 polls:
1: to see how many people would be interested;
2: to determine a day of the week;
3: to determine a month;
4: to determine the particular day;
5: to determine the time.
But then, that may be too scientific a way to approach this.

Well, on October 27th, I'll be on a Cruise Ship somewhere. But I will definitly pause and hoist one for X-Marks!
I still wonder if X-Marks has a birthday?

Well Hank was the first to join the forum on January 22, 2004 so I think it would be safe to say that was the first official day of the forum.
We have tried something similar to this in the past. We had a global party for Hamish's birthday a few years ago http://bearkilts.com/KiltsNight/may1kn.html
I think that given the date of the Xmarks anniversary, that it would be best to try for a Burns night on the following week of January 20th-26th, which would incorporate the 4th Xmarks birthday and Robbie Burns day. It's always a good excuse to get a bunch of kilties together for a good time.

I think Burns birthday would be a great annual world-wide kilt day. But no reason we couldn't shoot for Oct. 27th too.

This is a great excuse for SOKS to get out and support this worthy cause. How about the Queens arms in Oakville?
Cheers,

Burns day would be good for a world wide kilt day, but we should also have a world wide X-Marks day. But at this point why not declare Oct. 27 “lift a beer toast for kilts day” for 2007 and adjust next year as necessary. At some point during the day everyone lift a beer toast for kilts on the 27th. Kilted preferred but not necessary, 7 p.m. local time if possible but not necessary.
Single malt can be substituted for beer without penalty.
