    Clergy Tartan

Anyone know of a quality kilt maker in North America (Canada or USA)who makes a kilt in Ancient Clergy Tartan (Blue)?

    Many thanks!

    Rev,

The Scottish Lion has the Clergy ancient, and Clergy green ancient tartans:

    http://www.scottishlion.com/customkilts.html

Here's another place that has both of the tartans:

Hope that helps. I thought about getting one in modern clergy, but that tartan seems harder to find for some reason.

I had my first kilt made by

    http://www.mackilts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv

Rose does fantastic work... all by hand in the traditional way. They list 1/2 dozen Clergy tartans. Might be worth a look. These are not budget kiltmakers.

Sorry for not getting back to you Dan. Been swamped because of a delayed fabric shipment, (3 weeks late), and a bunch of wedding kilts that we are now scrambling to make in time.
My suppliers don't stock the Clegy tartan but I've heard nothing but high praise for MacIsaac Kiltmakers.

A few weeks ago I posted a question for Jimmy under the USAKilt section about the Clergy tartan. Here is the cut and past of Jimmy's response...

Here's the "skinny" on the Clergy Modern Tartan...

We have a Cycling Team out of Florida that we outfit, and they're using that certain tartan since it fits the team colors. We've taken it off of the site so that we're sure that they'll be "covered".

It wasn't all "that great" of a fabric (in my opinion) but one that was GREAT for a team that would be in the hot weather, and active.

We've posted a slug of new tartans in the last few days, and have a load more to go! We're so daggum busy (oh darn it) that we're not keeping the site up to date as we probably should. Between the concert kilts, the weddings and the festivals, it's enough to keep the orders flying out in less than a 72 hour turnaround!!!
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I have not asked again if he has gotten any back in stock but I really would like to get one. Maybe he'll update this....

WOW. I guess I had better respond to this post!

I'm due to hit the Mills within the next ten days, and will have the Clergies on the list. If ANYTHING comes-up... I'll make sure to post and email. 8)

Jimmy, I didn't want to speak for you but I didn't know if they saw the other post. If you get some in be sure to post.

    Clergy Green Ancient

If you can get the Clergy Green Ancient I might order a USAKilt in that. If not the "Stone Soup" tartan looks good, but I can't tell what the dark background color is on my monitor.
