    Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh Dinner

    To those of you in the know, the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh is celebrating its 500th anniversary this year. The College is the oldest medical coporation in Europe and possession of its postgraduate diplomas indicate that the holder is a competent and safe surgeon. It has other faculties (including dentistry) which also confer specialist diplomas.

    Part of the social fabric of the College is their formal dinners which are often great occasions. Formal dress is the order of the day and in Scotland, this means formal highland dress if you so desire.

    Here is me just before setting off for the Dental Faculty's dinner last Friday -
