    kilts.com

I have asked this before, when I was just looking into kilts, but has anyone got a kilt from kilts.com?

Thier shop is local to me and I have been in there but the most I have been told about them is that they are great people and great to work with. I don't think anyone told me a thing about their kilts. I will probably see if I can get a pin from them and maybe a jacket when the time comes.

One thing about them is I asked if they had barbs book (they didn't) and the guy suggested that I have one made because the cost differance is not all that significant especially when you factor in labor (for wool kilts), and because most home made kilts look home made. From seeing what you guys have made I disagree with that statement, but I think he was talking about making a kilt based off of the little hand out thing they carry, or by figuring it out yourself, not a book about kilt making.

Looks like you're the lucky local to give the rest of us feedback and promote any good deals....or sound warnings.

    Jacob,

I've wondered about that place myself. I'm down in Eugene and have thought about stopping by on the way to Portland. Where are they located? I don't know Salem real well, but I've been through many times.

On the home page click on the retail shop link. There's a map to the place.

They are on Liberty street, on the left hand side (one way street) in down town between State and Court. Best bet when coming from the south would be to take the Mission st exit and turn left. At this point it isn't so much Mission street as it it highway 22. Follow it all the way to liberty (it necks down to a one lane each way steet and then widens again, stay right). Turn right onto liberty and get to the left side of the street (one way), it is a few blocks down Liberty.

At the moment there is some kind of construction on the sidewalk where they have scafolding and plywood. That is almost right next to the shop about center of the block, just park on liberty between court and state, the shop is not the most visible and I think I passed it the first time I went there. I think it is free parking along the street too.

I guess I might have to be the guinea pig this time considering their location. Their 4 yard kilts are $325 and 8 yards are ~$500. Not sure where they actually get their kilts but they said they are made by one of thier partner mills in scotland. I am kinda guessing lochcarron since they mention Sean Connery and Prince Charles, but they are very specificly vauge.
