    Red Green Kilt Hanger...

I have yet to find a standard skirt hanger that has enough strength to support the heavier weight of my wool kilts.

Here is a "quick and dirty" solution that works.

I took 2 standard skirt hangers and bound them together with Duck Tape.

To hang the kilt, I fold it in half, then in half again. One set of clips then holds the front half of the kilt, and the other set of clips holds the back half.

    Like this....

I've had the kilt hanging on this contraption for 2 weeks with no slippage whatsoever. While I've not yet tried this with the all-wire skirt hangers from Wall*Mart, I suspect it will work just as well.

    Thumbs up

Great solution. I too have been looking for a way to hang my kilts. Have thought of building a hanger, but have not had the time to work on the project. I very much like your solution.

Well..if it can't be fixed with duct tape, it can't be fixed.

Great idea. My son's 18 oz band kilt has conquered every hanger in the house...until now!

Thanks for the idea, this look like a great solution, I have wondered how two wooden skirt hangers back to back would work. It is difficult to find a hanger with enough bite in the clamps to hang a 16 oz kilt.

Kilts do hang much better when they are folded and take up less room in the closet, they will also fit nicely into a garment bag.

A classic example of Redneck Engineering.

And remember, if there's still duct tape left there's still work to be done.
