Very nice work. You have converted a short time life kilt into a long life kilt. Congratulations! Did you also add canvas to the aprons? The additional canvas across the aprons will allow all the stress of the buckles and belts to go thru the kilt without stressing any of the wool.

Good luck. You would probably have a lot easier time of it than me with access to pictures or even Barb's book. Small, non-cutting changes like the stabilizer are all I'm willing to do, at least for now... Once you cut the fabric off, you can't cut it back on!!
Although, the straps on the wool kilt are not good, so I may replace those at some point. I do not want black straps on that kilt, so I will have to make them on my own. It has brown straps, but they are thin leather. It's not ergent.
