Stewart-Walker Wedding, 20 December, Valdosta, Georgia

Greetings Rabble... Finally have the where-with-all to post photos from my wedding from 20 December down here in Valdosta, Georgia. We had a civil ceremony the day before and then a blessing at Christ the King Episcopal Church in Downtowne Valdosta.

    The Courthouse...

I wore my weathered MacGregor for the Civil Ceremony with a "tweed" jacket my Mother-in-law cut down for me...

I'm not sure I like the way the jacket was cut, but generally I don't think it's normally noticeable- just when you stare at a particular photo for 20 minutes or so...

We had our family photo shoot on the courthouse lawn the day of... Five of the wedding party were kilted, including the Father and Brother of the Bride:

My brother and I both wore MacGregor, and we still couldn't outshine the Bride...

    To be continued...

    Wedding continued...

The Father and Brother of the bride were wearing the National Millenium tartan, kilts rented form the STM, and my Dad wore his new kilt in Morrison (our only confirmed Scottish pedigree)... I wore the MacGregor of Cardney (aka Hunting) with Argyle hose and my brother inherited my first MacGregor kilt and some bottle green kilt hose (and his sporran was his groomsman's gift). His wife cut down a really sharp looking "tweedish" jacket for him that really worked out well...

Here's a wee bit of swing action fae ye...

    Ooh La La!

My Momma with her MacGregor sash:

    The Chapel:

After the Blessing Ceremony Kelly and I were piped into the Ceilidh by our piper Joe Ashcraft to the tune of Scotland the Brave:

He also piped in the chapel opening with Hills of Glenorchy for me, Highland Cathedral for Kelly's procession, and piped us out with Reel of Tulloch. During the Ceilidh he played a wee piobareachd:

The Pinning of the Tartan was done during the Ceilidh (couldn't get hold of a MacGregor of Cardney sash):

Pinned with her Luckenbooth (my version of an engagement ring):

    More to come?

    Photographers! Oi, Vey!

I don't know what kinda "effect" our photographers were puttin' on these pictures, but I'm glad we didn't pay full price... guess ya get what ya pay for, eh wot?

Our Rings and some of the wedding programme:

Matching rings from Walker's Metal Smiths, Kelly's with Connemara marble (green stone) and mine with Iona Bloodstone; the celtic knotwork goes all the way around the ring:

    Outside the Courthouse:

Outside the Church (it's in a four story building):

Lemme know when yall've seen enough...

This ones kinda cool I think:

Welcoming our guests to the Ceilidh with a toast and our wedding quaich:

Now We're Gettin' to the Good Stuff- Refreshments!!!

The Uisce Beath (now I know what all the fuss over Single Malt is about)- Deanston 12yr, Glen Goyne 10yr and MacAllan Cask Strength with a little Johnny Walker Black Label thrown in for good measure:

    Mmmm... whisky:

There was plenty o' shortbread, and haggis, too (not shown):

And the Wedding cake (Apple Spice) with a piccie of the German wedding cup (I was born in Nurenburg) that my parents also used; and that's our flower girl (Kelly's daughter) sizing up the cupcakes (go figure):

I'm gettin' a wee bit carried away here:

But wait! There's more... (in the morning, I'm awa tae bed)

Lovely photos, congratulations to you both.

May the gods be with you and bless you.
May you see your children's children.
May you be poor in misfortune, rich in blessings.
May you know nothing but happiness From this day forward.
    May you have
    Walls for the wind
And a roof for the rain,
    And drinks bedside the fire
    Laughter to cheer you
And those you love near you,
And all that your heart may desire.
