Waistcoat at Target
Two Target stores I have been in in the last few days are closing out their stock of Merona waistcoats at 75% off. I got a black one for $6.28. It's cotton twill (I think) and seems pretty well made for the price. They had other colors.

I know these were discussed last Christmas. Many of us have them, myself included. I have two that I've worn regularly (several times a week) since last December, and I love them.

Darn it! I was at Target the other day and did not see any on clearance. They were just on sale for 20 dollars. Although, it was interesting to see that on one brand the lining was the Black Watch tartan.

I picked up two nice tweed ones last week at the same price.
They also have Royal Stewart tartan silk ties in

I went to Target yesterday (11/10) looking for clearance waistcoats, and there were none, so I bought two full-price wool ones, one in a brownish twill and the other in charcoal. They were $25 a piece, which I didn't think was too high. I saw the Black Watch-lined ones, and the Stewart ties as well, but passed them both by.

Just been to Target. Got two nice waistcoats. Thanks for the heads up. A great bargain I think. (Hate to say it, but will go nice with jeans too!)

I bought a charcoal one last weekend, but they were not on sale. I paid around $26 for it.
I may call them, though, and see if they're doing a clearance sale on 'em. If they're less than $10 a piece I'll buy one of each.

Sounds like a lot of us bought the tweed ones that were out last year. I picked up one of the warm (color) tweed ones and it's held up very well through a lot of wearing.
Did any of you happen to notice the tartan ivy caps at Targe' this year? Not very precisely made...the tartan doesn't quite line up evenly...but made of 60% wool and 40% PV and pretty nice for the price.

Hmmmm. Methinks I need to bail a bit early from cubicle tyranny and hit the Targe′ on the way home.

I've used the "Targe' " pronunciation for years but seeing it in print on this site creates the image of a kiltie plowing through Targe' carrying his targe! With the holiday shopping season upon us, it might behoove you. . .
