Anyone have experience with The Wee Scottish Shop (co.uk)
I'm about to pull-the-trigger on an Argyll Jacket & Vest set from The Wee Scottish Shop and I'm wondering if anyone else has dealt with them before. She's making me a good deal: £161.99 (which is quite close, given the recent strength of the Loonie, to the $250USD-sale-price for the pair that was available at USAK this past summer, which I was unable to raise at the time )
The spirit of the Declaration of Arbroath (6 April 1320) abides today, defiantly resisting any tyranny that would disarm, disperse and despoil proud people of just morals, determined to keep the means of protecting their families and way of life close at hand.

I've just had a look at their website. They claim to be a "friendly scottish company & we have been trading for many years", but nowhere on the site is a physical address. The phone number (07502031984) is a mobile.
They could be based anywhere in the UK. I am not saying that any of this is a bad thing, just that it is a thing that would make me think twice.

Chas

The website that skauwt posted shows an Argyll and vest for only £139.99.
Have you ever thought of grabbing a second-hand bargain?
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

i came across the persons ebay shop also and the feed back seem reasonable http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayIS...edbackAsSeller
you think sellers would let folk know more about who they are and where they are stationed from rather than having to hunt the web for data on them.... if you do purchase it be mindful of the postal strike affecting parts of Britain

Just as I thought. From one of their eBay sales:
See other items
Visit shop: The Wee Scottish Shop
Registered as a Business Seller
Other item info
Item number: 260430635718
Item location: Tipton, West Midlands, United Kingdom
So, not Scottish at all.

Yes, I would...

Very interesting... Thanks for the research!
On the whole, I'm not too fussy about the nationality of my vendor, but much more so about the quality of the merchandise, and their reputation for square dealing.

I don't think it is about nationality either. It is more about the fact that they are deliberately concealing their address and projecting a false image.
By the way they are situated no more than 20 minutes drive from my mother's house in the Birmingham conurbation. It is very possible that they are a truly Scottish firm that re-located to the conurbation. Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Wolverhampton, Walsall and the lesser large towns all offer excellent deals on business rates (Corporate Property Taxes). They may well have taken advantage.

Chas
