Bad business...
I bought 2 kilts a few years back... one is the black watch I have now. The other was a Masonic tartan kilt. Due to poor sizing instructions, the wrong size was ordered. I sent it back for resizing as per instructions. Never got it back. It was a company out of PA. Anyone know who I'm talking about? They shut down and reopened after a disaster, and never replied to my emails...

I don't know about the business you mention Josh, but I know that sizing instructions are often incorrect when dealing with PV kilts from rent/hire companies. I hope they get back to you and make all well with you (and their reputation).
PS. XMarks members discuss this sort of thing on line and everyone can read the posts. Their future business will feel the impact.

That doesn't sound good Josh. While I don't propose criticizing in public (or at least without the ability of the other party's self-defense), I would appreciate knowing the company (perhaps by private message), so I can avoid any of the parties involved.
Regards,
Tom

I have 3 kilts made by the kilt maker you are referring to. All fit fine, but then I knew what my measurements were as you should have before you ordered it. One of my sons also has 2 or 3 of his kilts which also fit fine.

No need to be a smartass, the instructions were backwards. I needed a 30 that could adjust to a 34 if need be, got a 34 that adjusted to a 38. His mistake, not mine. If it we properly written, I would have ordered the proper size. It's been years, and I just want to know how to get in touch with Mike, is it? I paid a day's wage, and paid more to send it back insured with money for resizing. I just want what I paid for. I would appreciate being able to contact him to make this right, if anyone can assist. Thanks in advance.

To clarify...
I'm not looking to start problems, I simply wish to get that which was paid for. I require contact info that was lost so that I may conclude my business with them in a reasonable manner, where everyone gets what they paid for or gives what was bought in the form of goods. It seems I would have done better to go to a local seamstress, but I figured who better to correct it than the original maker?!?

If you are referring to the kiltmaker as Mike then it is someone else.

I don't actually recall his name or the name of the company... a tornado destroyed his business, they moved, then tried to start up and square old business away a year or 2 later. I need contact info, I'll remember when I see it. May or may not be the same one.

2 companies in the state of PA that have gone out of business or changed names...
Frugal Corner Kilts - Owner was Mark Wright
Clansman Knitwear / Scottish Clansman / Islay Kilts / St. Kilda USA - Owner is Ralph Neilson
Not sure it was either of those and not passing any judgement.
