Bonnet Clan Badge issue - Advise required
Recently received a clan badge for my new Mackie balmoral. The badge attachment is a locking bar pin fastener. The fastener has a lot of play and i suspect it will come unfastened easily. Short of a drop of crazy glue on the fastener itself, does any one have a fix they use for similar problems? i was certain there would be a past thread with helpful advise but after spending some of the morning searching, no joy.
Thanks much

If you aren't going to be wanting to remove the badge often, the simplest thing to make sure it is secure would be to just put a couple of small stitches around some inconspicuous part of the badge and through the cockade of the bonnet.
Cheers!

Try a rubber band... Works wonders for kilt pins, and I suspect it would solve your badge problem as well!

Thanks for responding. The rubber band will keep me from losing the badge. Unfortunately, it does not solve the main issue being excessive movement of the rolling catch...thing. The XMTS badge has a locking catch, however my clan badge pin appears to be more cheaply made with no locking mechanism.
Thanks much

Just put a dab of hot glue on the catch so it can’t turn.

Sometimes some persuasion with a pair of needle nose pliers can tighten things up. Be careful though...

Use a dab of nail polish instead of hot glue.
