Camping Mirror?
Camping season is near. Hooray!
Since I’ve been kilted I’ve become more accustomed to the use of full length mirrors for checking the look of the outfit.
Can anyone suggest or recommend a decent sized mirror that is camping-friendly (folding or packable, etc.)?

I use the window reflection to shave, and I suppose you could see yourself in the windows too. But I know that there is aluminum or some type of foil mirrors that probably could roll up loosely.

Wal Mart in its sporting goods department carries a camping mirror. Mind you it's not a full length, but is packable! Just in case you are away from your vehicle. Then again perhaps a camping bud can check you out.
But its camping, right!

When camping at a campground that includes latrines and showers, you can usually find a suitable mirror there.
When camping someplace where one has to, um, improvise for some of life's simple pleasures, well, I'm not sure that fashion is your first priority.
Oh, you've got it bad. But I can totally relate.

Unless you are camping next to the Playboy Mansion most bunnies (or squirrels and other wildlife) don't really care how you look.
If you are camping next to the Playboy Mansion call me and I will take time out of my busy schedule to ensure your outfit is up to snuff!!

All I can say, is that your mode of camping and mine must be very very different!

I think what my esteemed Xmarkers are trying to say is that depending on what kind of camping you plan on doing (RV, KOA campground, state park, backpacking, ultralight, survivorman) there are some that have mirrors already available, some you'll have with you, things that can double as, or not needed at all.

Mirror? Camping? Fashion? Am I missing something?
It may be the Eagle Scout in me, but fashion and roughing it in the wilderness seems to be somewhat self-contradictory.
Haven't gone camping in a kilt yet, but I would get something along the lines of a Utilikilt for that, and to heck with fashion. When camping, the clothing should be able to protect you from the elements and, as a secondary consideration, comfortable.

I should have been clearer/more complete.
Just me and Mother Nature. Oh yeah -- and a few hundred other campers at a Folk Music Festival or Bluegrass Music Festival.
Yes some are at “Resort Campgrounds” with facilities that include at least over-the-sink mirrors.
And some with friends in large RV’s with full length mirrors.
But some are in tents out in the pasture. The 4”x 4” mirrors in the Port-a-pots just won’t do.
My kilted experience last summer was that after the initial ribbing there was friendly curiosity.
So I’ll be taking Thrifty Kilts to lend.
And preaching “Don’t knock it ‘till you’ve tried it.”
As rough and tumble as my camping buddies can be, they WILL like to see themselves in a mirror.
