Question Celtic Croft Economy Brown Watch - Any reviews?

    Hello from Alexandria,VA

Scottish games are coming up and I'm thinking of getting a kilt for them.

Bagpipes are coming along too. Played a duet with my instructor yesterday with him doing the harmonies.
Cat still thinks I'm torturing his brother.

I'm looking at getting a first kilt and would like at least some wool in it.
The Celtic Croft's Brown Watch looks about what I'd like.

My question is about the caveats in the description about the wool blend snagging, etc.

Is it that much of a problem, or is it the usual caveat emptor.

I'm also thinking about the stillwater heavy weight in Black Watch, but will probably end up getting a 1755 regimental for the living history we do in that sett,
so do not necessarily want that pattern. Don't care for the others they have at the moment.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks
    Khan

    Thanks,
I'm just wondering about the quality of the cloth.
    does it drape well?
    is it fairly sturdy?
    etc.

I have a Celtic Croft phillebeg in brown watch. I have worn it for about 58 hours total time (three renfairs working in the Scottish village and numerous nights in the pub) There are no pulls or appearent pilling. The hand of the fabric is softer than worsted wool but pleasant to wear.

The above is my experience, YMMV.

The hang of the kilt, while not as crisp as wool is quite good. Request a "crisp" press for the pleats if used as a general use item.
For renfair use I would suggest the "no press" option.

I have a MacLeod of Harris in Economy blend from CC, and it arrived with pulls in it. I had it replaced, and the other one was okay until I wore it, then it got some pulls. The hang of the kilt is decent.

If you get a teeny tiny crochet hook - like the kind used to make lace - you can tuck snags back into the fabric so they don't show.

That sounds like too much work, though I do know how to sew (quite well, actually).
    But anyway,
I broke down and got the Black Watch in heavy weight from Stillwater.

If I go for a second, it'll probably be a great kilt for the '45.
(Need to stay focused on the pipes.)
    Thanks for the input.
