Which sporran goes best with this tartan, the brown or black?

A hard decision - either would look good. My preference would be for the brown - that's just a personal opinion.

I'm a big fan of brown for day sporrans.

I have a few black leather day sporrans, but find that I rarely wear them, almost always opting for brown instead.

    Cheers,

    SM

    Edit:

Upon closer examination of the photos, I believe I have the same sporran (Margaret Morrison) that you have pictured in black, only in brown!

You are correct they are Margaret Morrison through USA Kilts, both in the picture are the same style.

I think the brown just stands out a bit more than the black.

The details of the brown and black sporrans pictured vary a bit. I like the construction of the black one better, but that's just me. Mine has brass rivets on it rather than silver... Odd!

I think you'll be pleased either way. While it's not especially roomy, it's quickly become one of my favorites.

    Cheers,

I can’t say that I go for the pattern of the sporran ——- too busy—— whatever the colour, but as to colour, black suits my eye and is rather more versatile in my experience.

I could be a bit flashy for what I am going for, a Great Kilt. I see where most say it is more of a older daily look.

I have to say brown is always a good match for blue as a default. So if this were my only kilt, I'd go brown.

    But black is more versatile.
