Dented Kilt
I keep getting these little dents in my kilt, almost like something scraped over the pleats in a perfect line. It is a ploy/viscose material. Anyone else experincing this that can help? Here are photos... Be my P.I... ith:

A fold from sitting, perhaps? I know mine easily iron out. Also do you "sweep the pleats" when you sit down and protect them while geting into a car? Just random thoughts here.

yes
I sweep as I get in, then after I am in I push my back against the seath, lift up my bottom and sweep again. One set of dents goes straight across the pleats in the center. Then there is a few just above the selvedge. They did not iron out. Maybe I am too light on the iron.

I am just guessing here, its possible that once you were seated you may havee setle a bit more- just enough to put a fold in and keep it there. I only say that becasue I noticed that for my self once affter a two hour drive. Anyway, another alternative- one of many , I'm sure, as other's start to read this thread- would be to hang it near your shower to take advantage of the steam, even clamping a wooden hanger at the bottom to give it a little weighted pull.

After reading the title to this thread, I really expected that we were headed in a different direction.
Looks like you either leaned up against something or got a bit of a fold under you when you sat down. It's easy to do, I go ahead and to one or two extra pleat sweeps after I've sat down, but that's just me. Do the shower steam thing, or use a steam wand; those can be pretty handy.

Could it be a minor flaw in the fabric caused by the manufacturing process?

You're probably the third clansman I've found on this sight! Cheers!

Dan,
I did not see this in the MacNaughton kilt while it lived here. I do "dent" my American Heritage P/V occasionally when sitting on a solid wood or metal chair. The edge of the stage in my church's parish hall is the one that gets me the most as I will sit on the edge at one end while "directing" my students as they work on a rehearsal of an upcoming "performance". I go home with dents. I hang the kilt on its hanger on the back of the bathroom door. After the family showers the dents are well gone. The other source of dents is leaning against the tailgate of my truck when conversing with friends.
