Finding a kiltmaker
Hi,
I had posted something similar before but I was hoping to be pointed in the right direction. I was hoping to order yardage of heavyweight tartan (Morrison Green Weathered) from Locharron but I was hoping to get a 5-6 yard kilt made. I was hoping to get some names and details of kiltmakers in the UK to send the fabric to and have them make it.
Thanks!

If I may suggest.
Find your kiltmaker first. Find them based on their reputation from customers not on their advertising.
Once you have found them, they can order the fabric at wholesale pricing and make the kilt.

Thank you, Steve.
I have been digging through this discussion board trying to find ones with good reputations from customers. I was just hoping I might be able to get some advice from customers on who to go for.
Best,
Adam

Perhaps we can help better, if you were to describe in as much detail as possible, what you are looking for.

Sorry! I am still learning!
What I am looking for is to get a 5 or 6 yard kilt made in 16oz Morrison Green Weathered. I am not looking for a casual kilt, I do prefer the traditional higher waist. I saw that Macgregor and MacDuff offer this as a 7 yard with flashes for a pretty good price. I was just wondering what my bet options are for something like this.
Thank you for your help and patience with me!
Adam

Hi Adam. I could make the kilt for you. I could also source the fabric for you. I am located near Chorley, Lancs. Below is a photo of a six-yard kilt that I made and sent to Australia.
