    Golfing in Kilt

Hello, I was doing some internet searching trying to answer the following question and I found this neat site so as a kilt wearer, I decided to join. I have not yet filled out my profile but will say that I was married in my kilt, wear it casually and dressed but have never golfed in it. I am going to go out next week to play in a wee tourney. My question is this, do you wear your sporran whilst golfing or does it hamper the swing? Thanks in Advance.

I take my sporran off. I don't need it while golfing. I usually take items out my pants pockets too when I'm playing sports.

I have golfed kilted and I never even noticed the sporran was there, until I needed a tee or ball. Put my wallet in my golf bag. Put a couple balls, some tees, couple coins and my divot tool in my sporran. No problems at all.

Golf with or with it out, it makes no difference if it is in the way it is being worn wrong anyways.

    Thumbs up

I just slide it around to my left hip.

I love golfing in a kilt! As for a sporran, do what is comfortable. If it is in the way, you can try shifting it to your side, or just remove it.

Some sporrans may work better than others. For example, I find that a fanny pack style sporran does not get in the way much at all.

I normally wear both a sporran and a small belt bag on one or the other hip. When i golf I take off the sporran and only wear the beltbag to carry tees, balls, balmarkers, etc, leaving everything else in the sporran in the golf cart (I cannot walk 18 in the hills around here because of some feet problems). In that situation I put the beltbag around on my left hip as it is then not in the way of my takeaway swing startup.

As Zardoz and SFCRick said, I'd wear it to the left hip while golfing, as one does when dancing.
