Gordon Red Weathered - to the Stripe?

    Hello all,

Looking for advice regarding a new kilt possibly. I may have an opportunity to get a Gordon Red Weathered kilt as there is going to be a special order placed. It was suggested I might like to get it pleated to the stripe and I like the idea but wonder how it would look in this tartan.

Also I am hoping it would actually add a bit of material for more pleats but I'm not sure to which stripe the pleats would be set to?

I'm no kilt-maker, but my understanding is that if you pleat to the stripe, the stripe dictates how many pleats you get. Of course that might depend on which stripe you select too.

A while back I made a kilt in this tartan and pleated it to the gray "block"/ wide stripe.

You can still see the thread, but the photos aren't visible right now because of the Photobucket situation.

I'm hoping to get the photos back up again soon.

Thank you Bonnie, in reading your post you referenced I thought this tartan would be interesting but maybe tricky and so your pictures would be invaluable - I would love to see those photos

Yes Father Bill that was a a big part of my question - maybe better stated was to ask which stripe would create the most pleats withing reason for a 7+ yard kilt
