How To Wear A Full Plaid?

I've recently bought a length of good quality plaid, nice weight as well.
It measures over 25 yards x 52 inches.
I've never put on a plaid myself but would be going for a Jacobean look, any help or diagrams would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

25 yards?! That's enough for 5 plaids (great kilts)! Also, I believe you mean "Jacobite" not Jacobean.

    Anyways, read this thread:

...I think Jacobean is correct- it refers to a period of time.

    Neither here nor there.

There are a couple of threads about this topic, which should be of use to you (here's a good one: http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/g...775/index.html ). Also, yes, I'd go with no more than 4-5 yards, for a belted plaid. Good luck.

I stand corrected! It's the very early 1600's:

Aye, rip off 5 yards and begin practicing. You'll need belt and sporran (dirk and side knife is nice to have also). I would enjoy showing you how to do it.....BUT, Pennsylvania is a far piece from Paisley...Damn! Malcolm
