How would you pleat a Grant or MacDonald of Keppoch kilt other than to the sett?

    Hello,

After considering a weathered red tartan for a new kilt, I'm now seriously thinking about a Grant modern (Lochcarron or Marton Mills), or perhaps MacDonald of Keppoch modern. The two look reasonably similar in my opinion.

How would you pleat such a kilt other than to the sett? Any pictures you may share?

    Thanks in advance.

    Alain

Obviously, pleated to stripe. Generally a pivot stipes is used but it depends on the size of the sett.

    Perhaps
my question regarding "kilt pleating other than to the sett"
    was not clear enough…

I am looking for pictures/examples of Grant or MacDonnell of Keppoch kilts that are NOT pleated to the sett, i.e. kilts that are pleated to the stripe (which one though, as the resulting visual effect may
    of course
vary...) or otherwise (if that is an option with these tartans).

    Thanks!

    Alain
