    I need your opinions

I can't wait any longer, I need my third kilt. But now I can't decide what to buy. I don't want to spend over $150 for a kilt and sporan, or just a kilt. Here are my thoughts. I would like one, like say the origional from UK because it is not too much money. Probably the tan color. I want one I don't care if it gets dirty and could be for working around the house or our theater.

But I have also wanted a traditional type kilt without pockets and I would get a sporan. But I think my background is mostly German or French, my dad's mother was a Boulet, not sure of the spelling, and his dad German. So then I was looking at USA kilts and from Sport Kilt, which both have good prices.

I know, I will have to get a couple kilts from this decision, but only have money for one right now. I currently have a black Survival from UK, and a tan Mocker. Any suggestions or feelings if you have any of these would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    DALE.

USA Casual and Celtic Knot Day Sporran

You can get a USA Casual and a Celtic Knot Day Sporran from Rocky and Kelly for $165. They are washable, custom fit, and an all around great kilt. WIth the smaller belt loops you won´t need a kilt belt either.

A Uk is a good choice for the money. Since you own a UK already I don't need to expound.

My best suggestion would be to wait untill you can afford a descent wool tartan Kilt. I've seen a sport kilt and you get what you pay for. They are ok for casual wear but they aren't a dress kilt. I don't want to run down a sponsor because they certainly have their place too. But if this is going to be your "Tartan Kilt" you should save up for one that looks and feels right. Maybe someone else can better explain the feeling of how a real "Tank" feels.

On the other hand if you need one in a hurry for a Highland games or ren fair and only have $150 go for it. Just know there is something better out there and it is worth the savings.

I agree with the USA Kilt casual...don't even need to get a sporran, wear a vest with it for pockets.

For me it was important to try a bunch of different kiltmakers to find what I liked.

Don't over look AmeriKilts for an inexpensive knock around kilt with cloth "sporran"

Honestly bro, I've never heard anyone being disappointed with SWK. I own 2 of them and I think they're awesome.

    Hey Dale,

If you are thinking more of a contemporary styled kilt, think Freedom Kilts. They are a little more $ but are made to your sizing. I have heard nothing but good things about them. click on their ad above.

As far as more traditional styled kilt, USA Kilt and SWK are two very good options for your $. To me, there are 2 items to help you decide:
    1. do you want the kilt sized to your measurements (aka USA Kilt)
    2. is 24" standard length of a SWK okay for you.

USA Kilt has more tartan choices as well.

    Have fun with your choosing.

Post pics when you get your new kilt
