Keltic Originals
Does anyone have any idea who the sporran maker is that stamps "Keltic Originals" on the back of their sporrans? I am trying to track them down

Re: Keltic Originals
Do you have a picture of the sporran?
Buzz Kidder I think uses the alias of "Buzz Kidder Originals" or something like that...

Re: Keltic Originals

The logo on the reverse of the sporran simply says Keltic Originals of Scotland
This sporran was bought around a year ago from a small independent in Kelso but I can't remember the kiltmaker's name and Kelso is a fair distance away from me so not an option to pop in and ask him
Nothing shows up in Google

Man, that is one fine sporran. I would very much like to know the craftsman as well. I would be willing to save up for something like that.

As sporrans go it wasn't particularly expensive (not more so than equivalent sporrans). The photo doesn't really do it full justice either. The fur is a dark silver sealskin, not as brown as the image shows, and it's my favourite

Re: Keltic Originals
I recognize the shape, style and cantle as one of the sporran makers I use in Scotland. The "Keltic Originals" may be a private company's stamp they're putting on the back to allow the private company to market the sporran themselves (as their own design), much like we do with several of our designs.

None of the sporran makers I use make that style so it would be helpful if you could PM me where you think it may have originated from Rocky
I want to start stocking this style for our own retail operation. I am fairly certain it is not Scott's, although I no longer deal with him so don't have access to his catalogues. The unique features are the cantle (without a knob on the top) and leather edging around the fur
I do know that around a year ago I did see some similar sporrans on the web but they've disappeared so it may be that you are correct about the rebadging and that operation may have ceased trading. I'm a little puzzled at the moment that you recognise the style as coming from Scotland. I thought I knew all the sporran makers

Re: Keltic Originals
Just noticed that the hunting sporran i'm wearing today is also stamped with Keltic Originals. Its one of my faves too! Picked it up in Pitlochry two summers ago at a mens wear shop on the main street.
not sure how to post a pic of it for you tho
