Kilt / Belt Color Help
Hey Guys,
Need some quick advice, I ordered an alphakilt in Olive Drab (http://alphakilts.com/catalog/index....991buukbkl1m97) and I was hoping to get this belt (http://alphakilts.com/catalog/index....products_id=16) in black, but all I can find is brown. For an olive drab kilt, should I stick with a black belt?
Thanks!

Personal opinion - I would wear the brown belt with olive drab.

Aye, agree. Brown with olive drab...
Black will work...maybe looks more "military" but think the brown looks more distiguished.

Either will look fine if your shoes are the same color.

I think black works well, but so does brown. I say buy the brown belt now, and keep looking for a black one...

Brown or Black
Personally, I like the brown with the olive drab. Some traditionalists will tell you that brown is more appropriate for daywear, but you are not looking at a traditional kilt. The flip side is that black is more appropriate for evening wear and is acceptable as daywear thus giving you more flexibility. Of course if you wear a vest with your evening wear, you won't need a belt in which case just having the brown one will suffice, unless you wear the type of jacket where the belt is worn on the outside of the jacket, (see MacMurdo's pics,) in which case you will need a black belt unless you can find the jacket in brown which is unlikely. Of course you will want to match the color of your sporran, (if you are going to wear one,) and your shoes, to the color of your belt so you may want to consider what shoes you will be wearing with this olive drab kilt first.
There, wasn't that simple?
Respectfully,
David

Dear lord. I'm prolly going to be wearing brown flip flops...so I should prolly go with the brown. Usually I just wear my black belt with my flops...but you don't usually see my belt.
