    Kilt Size Alteration Question

    Hey Everyone... John Rickman here...

I have a few Kilt Alteration Questions for any of our Kilt Makers out there. Stillwater Kilts has Wool USMC Kilts and I think that I would like to get one... But they don't have one in my size (42 inch waist / 21 inch lenght). They do have a 44 inch waist / 24 inch lenght that I could have Altered. My question is how does one Alter a 44 inch to a 42 inch and what effect does the Alteration have to the Apron and the Pleats ? Also, about how much would it cost to have these Size and Lenght Alterations done ?

I'd appreaciate any help Y'all could give...

    Thanks...

    Re: Kilt Size Alteration Question

I've been thinking the same thing about these USMC SWK. I would do the alterations myself. I just hemmed a kilt two weeks ago. Easy to do and moving the straps and buckles is the way to go for resizing the waist. I have no idea as to the cost for someone else and of course that can vary.
