kilt socks, or not
Attending the Phx AZ Scottish games tomorrow. I know you can wear whatever you feel like wearing, but here's a question: would I look better in kilt hose and flashes, or without? My shoes are casual. Along with my kilt, I'm wearing a rampant lion t-shirt, and big shady hat. What do you all think?

Forgot to mention...
As of now, the only sporran I have is this furry/shiny dress sporran. sporran.jpg
And this is my kilt pin: kilt pin.jpg I've ordered new, less dressy ones, but neither one has arrived yet, so I'll be wearing the dressier ones.

For me, Kilts don't look right to my eye without hose. This is totally subjective though.

I'll be at the PHX games on Sunday, wearing my normal everyday sock/boot combo. It'll be 90+ degrees this weekend, and I'm in no mood to wear more clothing than I need to!
If I get truly desperate, I'll swap out the boots for sandals and skip the socks entirely. Better to be comfortable and having a good time than dressed to impress and miserable... especially since there WILL be someone there who is dressed up more than you are!

I'm not a great one for wearing excess clothing especially when it is avoidable and warm, (see picture), but with that sporran, I would go with hose and flashes. It will definitely look better, (see picture again!) and as long as you are comfortable, you will probably feel more the part.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

Don't look forward to the heat
Thanks, I normally just wear cargo shorts, all the time. I'll have them in the car, as a backup. At least my kilt is washable (Sportkilt), just in case I mess it up.

Michael, here are a couple of older photos of mine. Casual with hose, working without kilt hose. Both days were hot but comfortable either way.
Having extra choices available will help, if you decide to dress "up".

it is comfy
Thanks. Your photos show about how I'll dress for the games today (I'm up early, wife is still asleep). After Sunday church, my wife will often keep wearing her dress, or skirt, throughout the day. I once asked her why she does this. She said that she is comfortable, in her dress or skirt. You know what? She's right. After wearing a kilt on a few occasions, I can see why she does this. But I need to get some real kilt hose. (wearing football socks, from a sporting goods store). PS. My kilt pin arrived yesterday. new kilt pin, blue.jpg. I have a better photo of it, but my laptop is being slow on the uptake, right now. Oh well.

My next kilt will be a utility kilt
I want a utility kilt. I like the idea of the extra pockets, on the sides. Kinda the same reason I wear cargo pants, or shorts. I like big side pockets. That will be my next. Save my Douglas tartan kilt for formal wear, the utility one, for the games, or casual wear. Then maybe I'll cut firewood, with it on. You have given me inspiration.

There should be plenty of utility kilts for you to check out at the show! They definitely have their uses.
