Material opinions please!
Rabble! I am having a waistcoat made and have some choices of material. The look I am attempting is formal, black, good with tux, etc. However, Barathea specifically is not available, and I have zero experience with any of the other options. Being that Internet pictures do not always translate color and texture well, I am hoping some of you are familiar with these:

May I ask - Why do you say Barathea is not available?
I have an entire bolt from the same weaver who makes the jackets for quite a few retailers of jackets.

Not available to this particular person - I have no idea why. Due to price, I'm not pressing it.

If you would like a swatch to see if it will work, send me an email with your full mailing address.
For a PC vest you will need less than 1 yard.

I would, but maybe that's just my nature. None of those listed are at bargain prices, and some simply don't look right for the job. The person making your vest might jump at the chance to work with the "real stuff" - something we know is perfect for the job and the desired look. I'd take Steve up on his offer.

Certainly take the "Wiz" up on the swatch offer.
I would avoid the Cashmere twill as a vest (personal choice due to being a cat owner and having a cashmere vest they prefer as a bed, even when I am wearing it).
Cashmere is great, but will require extra maintenance.

Cashmere - you might as well install a landing strip and lights for all the clothes moths which will head your way. If I ever make anything in cashmere again I am going to keep it in the freezer.

Cashmere probably not a good choice it seems.
To clarify, a linen hopsack weave material may be available, but not for certain. These choices were given to be somewhere in the ballpark...
