    Modern fabric, traditional wrap?

Have any of you seen or tried a traditional kilt wrap with a nontraditional fabric like cammo or denim? I only ask because I'm not great with a needle and thread. One day I'll make my own kilt, but for the summer maybe I'll try this with a light fabric.

    What do you think?
    Advice?

My thoughts would be "not". Great Kilts are rare enough at Ren faires. I think a camo version would be very odd. It would likely also cost more for the fabric than to purchase a redi made version.
Again just my thoughts, others here will likely have different opinions.
    Cheers

Whilst I would stay with the traditional fabrics, make it how you want; it's for you to wear. This thread has a link to a program where they make kilts, the one who chose a plain fabric had difficulties in getting the pleats right. http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=87500
Go past the corsets to the kilts. As others have mentioned on this thread the jacket worn by one of those presenting the program is just wrong.

Thank you friends. The more I think on it the more I lean toward a ready made kilt.

If going camo, opt for the knife edges sewn in if not automatically done. Almost all camo fabrics ( or denim for that matter ) will not hold a pleat. After a wash there isn't even a trace of the pleats.

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.
