    Montrose Doublet without Jabot

A question to the rabble. Can you wear a doublet without a jabot? Pictures with and without?

I have never tried my Montrose without the jabot as it is proper to have it there, I'll stick to wearing the Jabot and Cuffs with mine.
If you see a Montrose for example without the jabot there is a dart sewn in the middle, hidden when wearing the jabot. I'll post a few pics to show what I mean.

    A close up

This is what it should look like, with the jabot and cuffs.

I don't know if you can, but I will simply answer with "what a shame if you did".

I'm a big fan of the whole look... jabot, cuffs and all (extra points if you're wearing diced hose).

Ding, Ding, Ding! It appears that McMurdo has won the extra points). And now that you have won the extra points McMurdo, what are you going to do next?

I'm no expert but I think it might look "off" if you did. Just my 2 cents.

I laughed when I saw that -- we must have been replying at the same time (well, obviously he beat me, but his post wasn't there when I started replying) and when I saw his post right before mine (actually, I saw the diced hose after it finished posting my reply) I cracked up.

    Ya, what Cynthia said.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

I agree. The doublet really needs the Jabot and cuffs to really pull the whole look together.

Well McMurdo! You look stunning! I agree the jabot and cuffs for me seem to be mandatory. If you need a halfway stopping point to Disney your welcome to stop off at my homestead!
