Ordered a USA Casual and looking for Sporran Advice
As mentioned, I ordered a USA Casual in MacGregor on May 6th (that was 43 days ago, or 1,032 hours ago, not that I'm counting days and hours or any thing) but am totally confused on what sporran to buy.
Any suggestions on a good medium priced sporran and or a good place to buy one? I'm obviously familiar with USA Kilts, but want to make sure I don't over look other options.
I want a non-dress version but would like something that is well made and looks good. Thinking about going brown but am open to black.
Suggestions? Thanks.

Welcome to XMTS!
Take a look at any of the Buzz Kidder line of sporrans (many of our sponsors carry them)
They are simple, handsome, large, and well made
Best of all they all sell for around $65 and will last you for many years
Cheers

I haven't bought from them (yet!), but I've heard a lot of good things about this company

Rocky carries two Buzz Kidder sporrans: the Celtic Knot Day Sporran and the Rob Roy Day Sporran. Either sporran in black is $55 and brown is $60.
All Buzz Kidder sporrans come with a cheap sporran chain. I suggest replacing it with an all-leather sporran belt.
I highly recommmend the Plain Leather Sporran Belt made by RKilts. It is very well made and sells for only $20 Canadian. See here: http://www.rkilts.com/prices.htm
Stillwater kilts is currently selling two different sporran straps. See here: http://stores.channeladvisor.com/Sti...ries/Sporrans/

I guess it depends on what you mean by medium price, but I'd look at Donnie's site: Wyvern Leatherworks. He makes a damn fine product that is very reasonably priced. It will hold whatever you need to carry and will last a lifetime.

I will second the recommendation for a Buzz Kidder sporran. I have the Rob Roy. I replaced the chain with an all-leather strap. I am very happy with this sporran. I got mine from The Scottish Tartans Museum.

I'll third the recommendation for a Buzz Kidder! They are a great value and they come in brown.

For casual wear don't over look the Stillwater Kilts Nightstalker in ballistic nylon or leather. My favorite for one reason - ease of operation. Front pocket for wallet, zip open top with lots of room

I'm with Ron on that one. I really like my Nightstalker. I also submit that the Buzz Kidder country sporran is the sporran of choice for the Celtic Nations pipe band because they have a boatload of room.

I like my economy Hunting style sporrans from The Celtic Croft & The Scottish Trading Company. The chains that come with them suck but get yourself a good leather. I also have a Buzz Kidder, any of them would serve you well.
