    Pakistani Kilt shipping question

Now. Before we get into my question, I want to explain why I purchased my kilt from Pakistan. I was doing a ton of research prior to making this purchase. My Kilt needs to be cotton because I live in a desert, a 100°f+ in the summer right outside of Death Valley desert to be precise. It needed a rivet or stud in the back-seam. It needed d-rings and pockets. It needed to be black. It needed to be cheap. I can't drop $260 on a utilikilt or a proper wool kilt from Scotland or Ireland. So I found one that seems to have it all.

Now. I've never purchased anything from Pakistan much less a kilt. So I have two questions. One, does anyone have any experience with kilts from Pakpistan and how long does a shipment usually take to arrive?

Welcome aboard, and you'll get a lot of different answers from those who have ordered there. (I have not.) My guess is that it will depend on the particular company. Would you care to share the vendor's name?

Well. I did some more research, this guy has a very poor rating on ecrater. I'm kind of hoping against hope here I think.

I haven't ordered a kilt from Pakistan, but I did buy a jacket and waistcoat from there on eBay. The seller I dealt with took a week (or 2, I can't remember for sure) to actually ship the product, but once it was shipped DHL, I had it 2 days later. I was blown away by that 2 days shipping time for a $39.99 charge.

Interestingly, DHL is an arm of the German postal service.

If this ends up going south there's still hope for an inexpensive kilt. You can't swing a dead cat without hitting a dozen vendors selling the same stuff. If it were me I'd probably order from UT Kilts since they're based here in the US and have a reputation for legit customer service. I believe Amazon has a pretty decent selection too, some with Prime shipping.

Yeah. I should have gone with known brands. I saw this kilt and it was just perfect and I got over excited. Luckily I did pay with paypal. I can do a charge back. I'm giving it a month as his ebay does say it can take that long. His ecrater stock on this kilt did drop from 10 to 9 a few days ago.

I don't understand why his ebay has 100% good, but his ecrater has 71% bad.

    Maybe an X Kilt?

Another great option is to make your own. I know only the very basics of a sewing machine and had no trouble putting an X-Kilt together. My wife even asked where I bought it - and not condescendingly Adding rings and pockets and such not that complicated either. I did some practice tests and will on my next one. Also contemplating snaps or straps/buckles. Really, just imagination the key after the basics are done.

Well. I'm trying to get things ready for when my best friend comes and visits. What sparked this whole thing was actually finding out we both had lineage in Kerry County Ireland. I need my kilt, as cheap as it is, to be perfect. I think what I'll do is try to find the same kilt here in the states and order another. Worst case is it's certainly more expensive and I'll have to do a charge back, best case I end up with two kilts. One to wear out and one to keep in good order for events.
