    PC at a Military funeral?

    Hello all,

This is my first post here. I was wondering if the wearing of the Prince Charlie jacket would be appropriate for my fathers funeral. He will be buried with full military honors at a National Cemetary. I have a PC jacket that I have worn at other formal functions but I am at a loss as to what to wear to this funeral. Unfortunately I do not have another jacket to wear at this time. Is this completely out of the question? I know I would not normally wear a tux to a funeral.... but I am looking to honor my father and our Scottish legacy.

    Any suggestions?

    John

Sorry for your loss, friend. I know the circumstances aren't ideal, but welcome, from a fellow Coloradoan. There are a few of us here.

So to answer your question, I'd say a PC couldn't be more appropriate.

Sorry about your loss. A PC worn to honor your father's memory seems quite appropriate to me.

Sorry for your loss, normally a PC would not be appropriate for a funeral, as you say you would not wear your tuxedo to a funeral. However given the circumstances I would say if that is what you want to do to commemorate your Father then go right ahead nobody should stop you.

It's a shame your first post is under such sad circumsatnces. My condolences on your loss.

I do have to agree with the rest of the rabble, in this case, the PC is not out of place at all. I am sure your father would be proud.

Earlier this year I attended a Memorial Service for mutual acquaintance and Korean War veteran and several men in attendance were wearing PCs with their dress kilts. So if you want to do the same, I see nothing wrong with it.

I agree with Glen here: ordinarily an Argyll & black tie is preferred attire for funerals, but it seems that more people are going with PCs nowdays. Given both your desire & circumstances, go right ahead. You'll look sharp & feel good about doing right by your Da.
